About QGIS
QGIS is a free and open-source cross-platform desktop geographic information system (GIS) application that supports viewing, editing, printing, and analysis of geospatial data.
About This Course
In this course, we'll use QGIS to look at a few sources of open data, bringing them in individually and exploring a few intermediate QGIS topics. We'll have a discussion and exercises about open data, how to manage your data in QGIS, different data formats, QGIS plugins, and OpenStreetMap. We'll learn about some of the different sources of data that are available, including fire-specific data, and how we can use them to support the planning of a fire management project.
Thank you to the Kimberley Land Council and NAFI for providing input and advice on this course material.
