About This Course

Building on what you’ve learned in the ‘Introduction to ArcGIS Pro’ course, this course will show you how to use ArcPro and ArcGIS Online to create offline areas that can be downloaded to your mobile device. This is useful for remote data collection in areas where there’s no mobile coverage

  • In ArcPro, we’ll go through a quick refresher on how to load and symbolise data before we learn how to ‘share’ (upload) a map that you’ve created to ArcGIS Online.
  • Then in ArcGIS Online, we’ll go through the steps involved in validating your uploaded map and creating an offline area.
  • Next, we’ll cover the steps involved with downloading Esri’s Collector (a free app) to your mobile device or tablet.
  • Finally, we’ll cover the process for downloading the offline area to your mobile device.

Approximate time needed to complete this course: 8 hours

What You Will Learn

You'll receive a refresher in how to create a map in ArcGIS Pro, then you'll learn how to upload this map to ArcGIS Online (AGOL). Next, you'll learn how to configure things on AGOL so that you can download the map to your mobile device and collect simple or complex datasets even when you're in an area with no mobile coverage.
